BUSTLE – 2 April 2020
In the spirit of this week’s earlier podcast, If You Want Different Results, Then Do Something Different, we are going to try something different, with my sleep. I think I would benefit from better and longer sleep.
“We spend about a third of our lives asleep… if you aren’t getting the recommended amount of sleep, you are almost definitely doing damage to the other two-thirds of your life.”
WHAT I AM NOW TRYING:
I get to bed eight hours before I need to be awake in the morning. I use Magnesium Oil on the bottoms of my feet to relax my body. I pray. And I usually fall sleep quickly. But I don’t usually stay asleep. And having no routine for that is not working.
THE “SOMETHING DIFFERENT” I AM WILLING TO TRY, IN THE HOPE OF ACHIEVING BETTER RESULTS:
I think my falling-asleep routine is working, but no routine for getting-back-to-sleep is not. So. Today I will create a re-entry routine, for lack of a better phrase.
And that routine? Simply this: When I wake up before I want to be awake for the day, I will clear my mind and lie still, just to see if I can fall back asleep by never truly waking my mind up. If my mind doesn’t want to fall back asleep quite yet, instead of either trying to force the matter on her OR letting her run away with me, I will turn on one of the podcasts for sleep that are listed in Bustle that appeal to me:
