Just one thought today, on SUNDAY SABBATH STUDIES. I have been thinking, over and over again, for a couple weeks now, about the lyrics to the song from The Hunchback of Notre Dame:
“I ask for wealth, I ask for fame, I ask for glory to shine on my name. I ask for love, I can possess. I ask for God and His angels to bless me.”
God Help the Outcasts
Do I ever accidentally pray for these things? Do you? Maybe not in those words. But do our prayers reflect those desires?
Why wouldn’t praying for those things serve us well? This coming week, we are going to take a closer look at DESIRES with Brooke Castillo and with Neal A Maxwell. Really, something to look forward to!
“Be wise in the days of your probation; strip yourselves of all uncleanness; ask not, that ye may consume it on your lusts, but ask with a firmness unshaken, that ye will yield to no temptation, but that ye will serve the true and living God.”
Mormon 9:28
